Riflessioni sulla topografia e urbanistica di Palermo trent'anni dopo

In this work some new considerations and an update of the observations on the topography and urban planning of ancient Palermo are presented, thirty years after our article published in Kokalos 1987. It is noted that the hypotheses then formulated were confirmed by new archaeological excavations and new archaeological samples are proposed to solve open problems and create an archaeological open-GIS of the city accessible to all interested users and public administrations.

L’area del Golfo di Castellammare (Sicilia occidentale) è nota per le numerose fornaci di età romana. In questo articolo, si cercherà di ricostruire l’attività di un’officina destinata principalmente alla produzione di laterizi con bollo ΟΝΑΣΟΥ, databile fra III e I secolo a.C. Ricerche precedenti hanno permesso di riconoscere nel produttore di questi laterizi lo stesso Onasus Segestanus citato nelle Verrine di Cicerone e di localizzarne una possibile officina presso la Baia di San Cataldo. La ricerca sulle Madonie nasce con l’intenzione di approfondire l’evoluzione storica del popolamento sulla regione montana della Sicilia nord-occidentale. Il territorio, che solo in anni recenti è divenuto oggetto di più approfondite ricerche storico-archeologiche, si presenta estremamente ricco di risorse naturali e caratterizzato da un sostrato culturale variegato che abbraccia territori d’alta montagna, dediti ad una economia silvo-pastorale prettamente conservativa, e insediamenti costieri fortemente proiettati allo scambio e al commercio. This paper shows the data edited and acquired in June and October 2010 by surveys in Sabratha made by researchers at the University of Palermo, in collaboration whit the CNR ITABC for the PRIN 2008 Project. It consists of a preliminary study for an archaeological gis of Sabratha to promote analysis regarding the riuse of space in the Regiones III-V of Sabratha, after the destruction attribuited to the earthquake on 21th July 365. This paper starts from the processing of the data, both edited and acquired in 2010 by a series of dedicated surveys in Sabratha made by researchers at the University of Palermo, in collaboration whit the cnr itabc for the prin 2008 Project, carried out under the responsibility of Prof. Rosa Maria Carra Bonacasa.
